Ok people I have never ever got a Q8/7 req Item ingame. And They go for so much money. So I wonder if there is any special place for farming them. And do you do this farm in NM or Hm?. And if you are a Q8/7 farmer where do you farm?

Q7/8 can drop anywhere in both NM or HM. It's foolish to try and farm for them as they rarely drop, especially Q7

I'd settle for inscribable q8 armor15 shields. There has to be a place to farm those.

There is no specific place to farm them as they could drop anywhere.

Fixed. Req. 7 AR 15 inscribable shields exist. Req. 8 inscribables can drop max. The Raptor Nestlings(HM) dropped a Req. 7 15 AR shield for me during the St. Patty's weekend. I've merched many Req. 8 15 AR shields because they're one point off in both directions for any usefulness to me.

Check Ventari. Depends on attribute. Strength = merch food.

I can't think why I'd want to only run 7 in Strength, apart from some niche farming build, maybe. Perhaps someone who can would be more interested in such a shield.

When I started GW some extremely nice fellow gave me a Q7 Fellblade and a Q7 FDS for absolutley nothing I was like lvl 7 in Ascalon city!! (Both are max damage)

req 8 max weapons/offhands still drop, albeit very rarely.

req 7 max weapons/offhands don't drop anymore (some people will disagree with this)

Warriors want max Str shields. People (paragons, possibly some caster professions) want req 7 AL 15 shields because they would put 7 into a shield attribute but couldn't afford the 8th point without compromising something. Strength is unwanted because Wars can only put points into that.

Assume that most tactics shields with req 8 or lower are put on casters, most often monks (I'd say 95% of the time) - tactics skill tree offers some nice defensive stances.
Ive personally never used a tactics shield on my warrior.

Yep those people would be the people at ANet who have said that R7 max items can still drop. They are just very very rare.

I think the way the 'breakpoints' work, r8/16 and r6/14 tactics shields are the only valuable ones (r7/15 in a few cases, perhaps - 5-10k). At least that's what I remember from playing w/ attribute points.

I got a few r6/14's, and a few r8/16's (inscribable, of course).

I don't know how many r8/16 non-insc and r8/15 insc shields I've vendored (lots - took 40 hours raptor farm just to get an r8/16 insc)...

nope no difference, they drop anywhere, but your best bet for attempting to farm them, is any of the "noob" islands, beginning of factions and nightfall, and in HM so that it's worthwhile atleast, you will not get any nice skins, but you will get LOTS of low Q items, some are sometimes max, but low q's drop more often in these areas than anywhere else. i have a q8 max fellblade and i have no idea where i got it, it dropped for me when i first started playing the game on my first character almost 4 years ago. And because i was noob, i customized it!! lol. wish i never did that, anyway, good luck

I think really the best place to get r8 max stuff is from enemies in the lvl18-24 range. I remember getting a few q8 max gold shield from the dead sword farm (lvl20 enemies). They were bad skins though. Basically though, find aa enemy type that drops a skin you want etc, and hope theres a grouop of them in that lvl range. They'll be rare though, so dont expect one every few runs :P

i got a req 8 eternal ow 14^50 drop for me once, over 1000 hours of playing, 4 years, and thats the only gold q8 ive ever gotten. sum ppl think that q8s come from nm more. i dont know...
